NA-015
The Island of Cuba, the biggest of the archipelago, has a large and thin
shape. Most of the cuban hams live in this island.
NA-086
Archipelago Camaguey. It's located few Kms. north of the eastern coast
of the island of Cuba. It is a touristic area and has one of the
biggest keys of the cuban archipelago; Cayo Romano. This reference was
only activated in 1988 by a group of cuban hams.
NA-201
Archipelago Jardines de la Reina; It's located few Kms south of the eastern
coast of the island of Cuba. This reference was only activated in
1988 by a group of cuban hams.
NA-056
Archipelago Los Canarreos; It's located in a huge area south of the
western coast of the island of Cuba. To this Reference belongs the second
biggest island of the Republic of Cuba, Island of Youth
(CO4, CM4, CL4 prefixes).
Recently, in june 1996, a group of cuban hams with the participation
of a radioamateur from Portugal, activated a DXpedition for the IOTA
Award from the Island of Youth (CO4OTA).
In april 1998, this reference was activated again, this time from
Cayo Ernest Thelman, by a group of cuban hams.
NA-093
Archipelago Las Coloradas, It's located few Kms north of the western coast
of the island of Cuba. Was activated for the first time 1988 from
Cayo Levisa, by a group of cuban hams. In 1995 the reference was acivated
again, this time from Cayo Jutia, by a multinational DXpedition with hams
from Spain, Italy, Portugal and Cuba.
This dxpedition, the CO1OTA, was active in all bands from 160m to 1,2 GHz.
and made hundreds of QSOs in 50, 144 and 432 MHz.
NA-204
Archipelago Sabana. It's located few Kms. north of the central part
of the island of Cuba, just on the border of the "Gulf Stream. In Cayo
Santamaria Key it has one of the most beautifull beaches of Cuba. This
key is joined to the mainland by a 44 Kms. stone-road and has touristic
facilities.
The reference was activated for the first time in 1995 with the
multinational station CO0OTA with hams from Spain, Portugal, Italy
and Cuba.
NA-218
All the keys located in the northeast coast of the island of Cuba, north of the province of Holguin.
On september 15th to 17th, 2000, the reference was activated for the firstever time by a group of cuban hams from Cayo Moa Grande.
